DESCRIPTION:Sign up for Youth Mental Health First Aid Training VIRTUALLY via Zoom. This live instructor-led session will be on Tuesday\, June 30\, 10 a.m. – 3:45 p.m. Phoenix time. (Phoenix does not observe daylight savings time). \nThrough NATIVE HEALTH’s free Youth Mental Health First Aid training\, adults (18+) learn how to notice\, listen\, and respond when a young person needs support. \nWhat You’ll Learn in Youth Mental Health First Aid\nThis interactive training helps you recognize and respond to signs of mental health or substance use challenges in youth ages 12–18.\nDuring the training\, you’ll learn how to:\n• Notice early warning signs when a young person may be struggling.\n• Understand how life stress\, trauma\, and other factors can affect youth mental health.\n• Reach out with empathy and start supportive conversations.\n• Respond with confidence in both everyday and crisis situations using a simple 5-step action plan.\n• Connect youth to professional help and community resources.\n• Encourage ongoing wellness\, resilience\, and hope. \nWhat Participants Can Expect:\nWhen you sign up through NATIVE HEALTH\, you’ll follow a step-by-step process designed to guide you through the full training experience.\n1. Register for the training through NATIVE HEALTH.\n2. Create a learner account in MHFA Connect (the national MHFA learning platform).\n3. Gain access to course materials once enrolled in the course.\n4. Complete the required 2-hour self-paced online pre-work prior to attending the live session.\n5. Attend the live virtual instructor-led session with two certified MHFA instructors.\n6. Complete the required post-work.\n7. DESCRIPTION:NATIVE HEALTH’s Youth Resiliency Program invites you to join our Young Indigenous Readers Summer Book Club starting on Tuesday\, June 9\, 2026\, from 6 – 7 p.m. at NATIVE HEALTH Central – Phoenix. We will be reading “The Heart of a Chief” by Joseph Bruchac. This story centers on a young Native boy who fights to protect his heritage and culture. \nEnjoy fun activities in between chapters and participate in discussions. As an additional activity\, we will also work on learning and developing a poem that will reflect on Native American culture during our two month series! Our next meetings following June 9 will be Tuesday\, June 30 at NATIVE HEALTH Central\, Wednesday\, July 8 at NHW Community Health Center\, and July 22 at NHW Community Health Center. \nBook Club members will receive a free book and additional supplies for activities.
