DESCRIPTION:NATIVE HEALTH’s Tribal Home Visiting Program is hosting Positive Indian Parenting (PIP)! These interactive sessions will be held VIRTUALLY on Thursday\, July 30 and Friday\, July 31\, from 9 am to 1 pm Phoenix time (PT). Each session is designed to reconnect families with traditional teachings so that parents can apply cultural teachings to modern-day parenting challenges. Participants can enroll voluntarily or if needing to meet a court order requirement for a Parenting Class. \nTopics Covered: Traditional Parenting\, Lessons of the Storyteller\, Lessons of the Cradleboard\, Harmony in Child Rearing\, Traditional Behavior Management\, Lessons of Mother Nature\, Praise in Traditional Parenting\, and Choices in Parenting \nParticipant must attend both days of class from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. PT to receive a Certificate of Completion. Participants must register individually. Packets must be picked up prior to class start date\, or other arrangements can be made. \nPositive Indian Parenting is designed to meet the needs of parents\, relatives\, caregivers\, foster parents\, and others who strive to be more positive in their approach to parenting. These interactive sessions will be held VIRTUALLY on Thursday\, July 30 and Friday\, July 31\, from 9 am to 1 pm Phoenix time (PT). Each session is designed to reconnect families with traditional teachings so that parents can apply cultural teachings to modern-day parenting challenges. Participants can enroll voluntarily or if needing to meet a court order requirement for a Parenting Class. \nTopics Covered: Traditional Parenting\, Lessons of the Storyteller\, Lessons of the Cradleboard\, Harmony in Child Rearing\, Traditional Behavior Management\, Lessons of Mother Nature\, Praise in Traditional Parenting\, and Choices in Parenting \nParticipant must attend both days of class from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. PT to receive a Certificate of Completion. Participants must register individually. This program will provide free Indigenous books\, interactive activities\, snacks\, and a supportive space for families to learn and grow.  \nEach family takes home 12 Indigenous children’s books. DESCRIPTION:Do you have concerns about falling? A MATTER OF BALANCE is an award-winning 8-Week Fall Prevention program designed to manage falls and increase activity levels. These classes will be held Thursdays\, starting Thursday\, July 9 and run through August 20\, 2026\, from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. at NHW Community Health Center\, 8800 N 22nd Avenue in Phoenix. \nYou will learn: \n\nEducation on safe movement and home modifications\nHow to identify unique fall hazards in the home\nHow to exercise to increase strength and balance\nHow to set goals for increasing activity\n\nOpen to Indigenous elders or Indigenous persons with physical disabilities and/or worried about falling. Participants will receive a FREE assistive device each class.
