DESCRIPTION:NATIVE HEALTH is excited to announce our Resilient Indigenous Youth Council! We are looking for Indigenous Youth ages 11-24 to join us. This is your opportunity to share your voice \, develop leadership skills\, and make a lasting impact on your community. The Youth Council will focus on creating cultural connectedness\, engaging leadership and service opportunities\, fostering friendships\, and making meaningful change. Each session is designed to reconnect families with traditional teachings so that parents can apply cultural teachings to modern-day parenting challenges. Participants can enroll voluntarily or if needing to meet a court order requirement for a Parenting Class. \nTopics Covered: Traditional Parenting\, Lessons of the Storyteller\, Lessons of the Cradleboard\, Harmony in Child Rearing\, Traditional Behavior Management\, Lessons of Mother Nature\, Praise in Traditional Parenting\, and Choices in Parenting \nParticipant must attend both days of class from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. to receive a Certificate of Completion. Participants must register individually. Participants can enroll voluntarily or if needing to meet a court order requirement for a Parenting Class. \nTopics Covered: Traditional Parenting\, Lessons of the Storyteller\, Lessons of the Cradleboard\, Harmony in Child Rearing\, Traditional Behavior Management\, Lessons of Mother Nature\, Praise in Traditional Parenting\, and Choices in Parenting \nParticipant must attend both days of class from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. to receive a Certificate of Completion. Each session is designed to reconnect families with traditional teachings so that parents can apply cultural teachings to modern-day parenting challenges. Participants can enroll voluntarily or if needing to meet a court order requirement for a Parenting Class. \nTopics Covered: Traditional Parenting\, Lessons of the Storyteller\, Lessons of the Cradleboard\, Harmony in Child Rearing\, Traditional Behavior Management\, Lessons of Mother Nature\, Praise in Traditional Parenting\, and Choices in Parenting \nParticipant must attend both days of class from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. to receive a Certificate of Completion. Participants must register individually. Packets must be picked up prior to class start date\, or other arrangements can be made. \nPositive Indian Parenting is designed to meet the needs of parents\, relatives\, caregivers\, foster parents\, and others who strive to be more positive in their approach to parenting.
