(Phoenix does not observe daylight savings time). \nThrough NATIVE HEALTH’s free Youth Mental Health First Aid training\, adults (18+) learn how to notice\, listen\, and respond when a young person needs support. \nWhat You’ll Learn in Youth Mental Health First Aid\nThis interactive training helps you recognize and respond to signs of mental health or substance use challenges in youth ages 12–18.\nDuring the training\, you’ll learn how to:\n• Notice early warning signs when a young person may be struggling.\n• Understand how life stress\, trauma\, and other factors can affect youth mental health.\n• Reach out with empathy and start supportive conversations.\n• Respond with confidence in both everyday and crisis situations using a simple 5-step action plan.\n• Connect youth to professional help and community resources.\n• Encourage ongoing wellness\, resilience\, and hope. \nWhat Participants Can Expect:\nWhen you sign up through NATIVE HEALTH\, you’ll follow a step-by-step process designed to guide you through the full training experience.\n1. DESCRIPTION:NATIVE HEALTH’s Tribal Home Visiting Program is hosting Positive Indian Parenting (PIP)! These interactive sessions will be held VIRTUALLY on Tuesday\, March 24 and Wednesday\, March 25 from 9 am to 1 pm MST. Each session is designed to reconnect families with traditional teachings so that parents can apply cultural teachings to modern-day parenting challenges. Participants can enroll voluntarily or if needing to meet a court order requirement for a Parenting Class. \nTopics Covered: Traditional Parenting\, Lessons of the Storyteller\, Lessons of the Cradleboard\, Harmony in Child Rearing\, Traditional Behavior Management\, Lessons of Mother Nature\, Praise in Traditional Parenting\, and Choices in Parenting \nParticipant must attend both days of class from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. to receive a Certificate of Completion. Participants must register individually. Packets must be picked up prior to class start date\, or other arrangements can be made. \nPositive Indian Parenting is designed to meet the needs of parents\, relatives\, caregivers\, foster parents\, and others who strive to be more positive in their approach to parenting.
