In efforts to provide high quality care to our patients, NHW Community Health Center maintains accreditation through Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, Inc.
The Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, also known as AAAHC, is a private, non-profit organization formed in 1979. It is the preeminent leader in developing standards to advance and promote patient safety, quality and value for ambulatory health care through peer-based accreditation processes, education and research.
Accreditation is awarded to organizations that are found to be in compliance with AAAHC standards. AAAHC currently accredits over 5,000 organizations in a wide variety of ambulatory health care settings, including ambulatory and office based surgery centers, managed care organizations, as well as Indian and student health centers, among others. With a single focus on the ambulatory care community, AAAHC offers organizations a high quality and collaborative approach to accreditation.
FTCA Protection:
As a Federally Qualified Health Center, NHW Community Health Center is eligible for Federal Torts Claim Act (FTCA) medical malpractice liability protection. As such, NHW Community Health Center is a Health Center Program grantee under 42 U.S.C. 254b, and a deemed Public Health Service employee under 42 U.S.C. 233(g)-(n).
